How should inspectors confirm product identity and quantity?

Start with the basics. Verify the model, color, finish, quantity, packaging version and destination against the purchase order. Mixed cartons, similar-looking finishes and revised accessories can create errors even when the lamp itself functions.

Check:

  1. Model and SKU on the product, box and carton.
  2. Ordered color and finish.
  3. Ordered quantity and carton count.
  4. Correct plug, cable, dock or other charging accessory.
  5. Correct instruction language and destination labels.

Packaging must protect the approved configuration and help the end user operate it correctly. A visually acceptable lamp can still generate returns if the wrong cable is packed, the instructions omit the charging sequence or the product moves inside the box.

Inspect:

  • correct lamp, accessories and instructions in every sampled box;
  • protective materials and product orientation;

  • Do controls and charging behavior match the approved instructions?
  • Are accessories, labels and packaging correct for the destination?

Frequently asked questions

Is a factory self-inspection enough?

It can be one layer of control, but the buyer should decide whether the order also requires a buyer review or independent third-party inspection. The appropriate approach depends on the product, order value, customization, prior performance and destination requirements.

Can one approved golden sample replace a written specification?

No. A physical sample is useful for appearance and operation, but it may not identify internal components, packaging, labels, tolerances or required documents. Use the sample together with a controlled specification.

Does a lamp turning on prove its battery quality?

No. A power-on check confirms only limited function at that moment. Battery capacity, runtime, charging behavior and shipment readiness require defined model-level checks and supporting documents.

Should every lamp receive the same tests?

Not necessarily. Some checks may be applied to every unit during production, while others are sampled during final inspection. The buyer and supplier should agree which controls are 100-percent checks and which use an inspection sample.

What happens when the inspection finds defects?
